The project
The project was born following a meeting between some university professors at the Catholic Forum Rome promoted by the University of Notre Dame Rome Global Gateway in April 2022.
It is not easy to meet the spiritual needs of our times. In secular society, probably only art remains the last possible means to offer a solution in line with the tradition of our culture and civilization. Among all forms of art, music is the one that addresses the human being in the most direct way.
The lecture series is based on research and rediscovery of spiritual values through music. Musicians, from four countries and active in the field of musical and theological education, offer the opportunity to experience spirituality through the analysis of some reflections on the subject.
The project is proposed in the form of 5 study days of 4 hours each.
● TEACHERS
Member of the Kinari Ensemble and leads a research project regarding the discovery of the chamber repertoire of Sicilian composer Eliodoro Sollima.
The project was crowned by the realization and publication of a CD produced by the Dutch label Brilliant Classics.
Benedictine monk, musician
(music theory, piano, organ) and theologian (monastic spiritual theology), teacher at the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm and the Pontifical Institute of Teresian Spirituality.
Concert performer (organ, piano, harpsichord), choir director, composer and author, founder of the “International Center of Sacred Music. Expert in liturgical musicology. Teacher at the Pontifical Institute of Teresian Spirituality, the Pontifical Faculty of Theology of St. Bonaventure and the Pontifical Gregorian University.
Professor of Musicology and Music Education at LUMSA University in Palermo and Head of Teacher Training for the Music and Art House Academy in Palermo.
